Title One

What is title one?

Title 1 is the largest federally funded educational program. Title 1 provides supplemental funding to support educators in low-income schools for improving the academic achievement of students who are economically and educationally disadvantaged.

IMPROVING THE ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT OF THE DISADVANTAGED

SUU SUCCESS Academy is a Targeted Assistance Title I school. As a Targeted Assistance school, Title I Money at SUU SUCCESS Academy is used to provide additional support to students who are identified as failing, or at risk of failing to meet Utah Academic Standards.

What Can you expect from suu success academy as a title 1 targeted assistance school?

  • All students at SUU SUCCESS Academy will receive a quality education through the implementation of a well balanced curriculum and effective teaching strategies.

  • SUU SUCCESS Academy will ensure instruction is provided by qualified teachers.

  • Parents and guardians have the right to request specifics about the qualifications of their students’ teachers.

  • Parents will be welcomed, and the school will work with parents and guardians to understand and navigate the school system.

  • Communication between home and school will be used to create a collaborative partnership.

  • Staff members will be trained in effective ways to work with parents, guardians and community members.

  • Information about the standards for learning determined by the state, materials and programs used to teach those standards, and the tests used to show how a student is progressing will be shared with parents and guardians.

  • Parents, guardians and members of the community will be involved as full and active partners in fulfilling the SUU SUCCESS Academy Vision for Student Success: Teacher-Student-Parent Compact.

  • The school will work to enhance the way parents and guardians already support their students’ academic success at home through materials, ideas, or activities parents and guardians can use.

  • Parents and guardians will be involved in making school decisions and assessing the effectiveness of school programs. The School will implement strategies to increase parent engagement: Parent and Family Engagement Policy.

  • Parents and guardians can expect to be informed if their student is identified as being eligible for Title I services.
